This palace was built back in the year of 889 but ignored for a long time. It was not until the 11th century that the Moorish emir Mohammed ben Al-Ahmar rebuilt it with the walls and structures that it has now. This palace was run by Islamic people who lived in this area until 1492 when the Catholic Monarchs took over the area and therefore the palace along with it.
